Cheung Style Tournament Workshop Series

Traditional Wing Chun is a martial art that is well known for self-defense but it is also a formidable system for use in competitive fighting tournaments. From point sparring, continuous sparring to full contact: Wing Chun Works

Master Anthony Arnett through years of training and competition honed his Wing Chun skills for competitive fighting and this experience led Master Arnett to name this style of tournament fighting, “Cheung Style” as a tribute to his teacher, Grand Master William Cheung.

Sifu Jesse S. Jones has trained with Master Arnett for more than 15 years in Traditional Wing Chun and Cheung Style Sport Kung Fu. Following in the footsteps of Master Arnett, Sifu Jesse has competed in tournaments throughout the Southeast using the techniques and principals of Traditional Wing Chun through Cheung Style Sport Kung Fu.

The principals and techniques presented in these workshops are not only applicable to competitive fighting but also for self defense, Cheung Style Sport Kung Fu is based on the principals of Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu with only subtle alterations to suit the rules of tournament competition. For those who do not wish to compete these workshops will still give you a greater understanding of the principals and techniques of Wing Chun Kung Fu

In these two workshops Sifu Jesse will cover:
Tournament Etiquette
Tournament Strategy
Wing Chun Forms for competition
Using Wing Chun/Cheung Style for point sparring competition
Using Wing Chun/Cheung Style for continuous sparring competition

At the conclusion of each workshop we will be conducting a mini-tournament to give the workshop participants a taste of what they can expect when competing.
